You have a 4-syncro tranny, I believe. Could this be the famous clearance
problem that is always mentioned in respect to this swap, but which I
have never seen explained?
I have the same set-up, and I seem to recall that I couldn't get that
last bolt in the left side engine mount. But I managed to get a
one-size-smaller bolt through and secured, for what it's worth. Don't
think the rubber is really that stretched on mine, though. I was assuming
it was just an order-of-assembly problem (meaning that I should have
bolted down that side first, but I wasn't going to take everything apart
and start over).
Don't know what you can do about those "captive bolts". I ran a
thread-cleaner die down mine to clean them up before reassembly. You
definitely need all four in action. I recall I once substituted
undersized bolts for the rear of the propshaft (mental lapse), and all
four sheared about a quarter of a mile down the road, leaving me dead in
the water in the middle of an intersection.
Congrats on being up and running, anyway.
