Rocker arm bushings

Anyone have any experience replacing the rocker arm bushings?   Vicky B &
Moss both list them. Tech help at Moss was no help. He allowed as how it
was probably a job for a machine shop. 

Mine are chewed up and the shaft as well. Suprising to me because there was
so little play in the rocker arms while installed on the shaft.

I've not seen a discussion on this subject (R & R, effect on performance,
etc....) before. Any interest Barney, Lawrie?
