moss selling names

Just received a catalogue from Victoria British.  From the name which I 
supplied to the Moss Motors' web site to get their catalogue, I believe Moss 
handed over my name to Vic Brit.  Does anyone know if Vic Brit and Moss are 
the same company, else why would a competitor pass on the name of a 
customer?
