Filling the oil pump

I am about to put the oil pan on my engine ( it is still on the engine
stand) and I read that I must fill the new oil pump.
Can someone tell me how to do it? It is a new pump and I have used all
the proper gaskets, etc. The engine is still in the oil pan "up"
position.
