A groupe 26 should fit. It is hard to get in there though. Miata batteries ar
very hard to find, and expensive, but any Mazda dealer will have them. I can't
remember, but I heard list was either $120 or $200 for one of those. I've also
heard that if you can find them elsewhere they are more like $50 - but I've
never found them elsewhere. I have Porsche that takes 2 size 22NF batteries -
try to find that. Anyhow, I ended up a K-mart buying an exide group 75 (same
as a 26, but with side posts instead fo top), and cutting of the battery clamp
ears. Every other groupe 26 I tried was 1/8" too big.
So the bottom line is GOOD LUCK, check batteries everywhere you can find a
different manufacturer.
