I think anybody, driving any car, should - under safe circumstances of
course - practice emergency braking periodically.  Try it on wet pavement
(an empty parking lot?).  Try it on gravel.  You might be in for a
surprise.  Even with excellent brakes,  for example, quick stops on gravel
are an oxymoron.  Those of us who are not trained race drivers sometimes
drive years without an emergency braking manuever.  It's easy to forget how
the car will really respond.
