SpeedVision ran part 2 of a 2 part series on the MGB on Friday night. In
addition to a lot of interviews with those involved in both the B and the
BGT, they showed several ads. In addition to the parachute ad, they showed
one with a guy and gal on a picnic with a German WWI bi-plane in the
background.
Sppedvision also showed the Morris promo clip Paul Hunt refers to in his
post. They also showed the Nuffield promo clip titled Safety Fast that was
used for the '51 (or maybe '52) TD. It followed a TD down the assembly line,
out of Abingdon, through London, onto the ferry, over to France, than off to
the Alps for a ski holiday (the driver, not the car). They were promoting
all the "safety" features of this new car.
Keep an eye on SpeedVision, as they come up with these gems from
time-to-time. Coming up soon is a 2-parter on the Mini-Cooper, and in about
two weeks they have a special on the Triumph marque (not that any of you guys
would want to watch that ;o))
They post the schedule for these shows on their website
(http://www.speedvision.com) under the show name Legends of Motorsports.
