Both of my '73 GT's (one non-O/D and one O/D )
had one on them when the cars were purchased.
I think it's more a matter of which speedo cable someone used
and weather it was convenient to use one or not for the length of the
cable they were using or simple clearance issues.

Subject: RE: Speedo cable rerouting...
I have a question on the subject at hand....
I just removed the engine/tranny from a 67 MGB-GT parts car before turning it
over to my buyer.
The transmission (non-OD) had attached a perfectly operational right-angle
drive on the end of the speedo cable.
I was under the impression that the right-angle drives were only fitted to OD
transmissions. Is this not normally true?
And on another subject.......
Also, I've been dying to know for months now.....is my car (67 MGB Roadster)
supposed to have a "self-cancelling" turn signal switch? I don't mind turning
it off manually, but I've been meaning to ask!
Thanks,
