First, the FS, and FP key blanks are easy to get in the US. Not all
locksmiths may stock them, but I can usually get keys reproduced without a
problem. May be the same in England.
Getting the Certificate for your car may not help. All three of my cars
wouldn't qualify. I got the Healey certificate with the idea of getting the
code for the boot. The certificate said the blank was an FP, but the
ignition key was an FS, which also fit, but didn't turn the boot lock. A job
for a locksmith.
The C came with one key which worked only one lock. I got the three new
locks from Moss, pitched (why I don't know) the old ones.
The GT had no glove box lock, and the lid was severely cracked. The used
replacement lid didn't come with a key either, so again I went to a
locksmith to make a key. He did, and the key had "The Club" stamped on the
blank. Hmmm.
The cars have been around for a while, and who knows what has happened to
the locks and keys after they left the factory. That is part of the fun of
our cars.
Enjoy,
Jack
