I guess most people jack their Bs under the X-member and out the axle stands
(jack stands) under the chassis rails. The advice about giving the raised
car a good nudging to see if anything is going to move is good too.
What seems to have been overlooked is the advice about initially loosening
high-torque fastenings-e.g. wheelnuts, suspension pivots, etc. with the car
*on the ground*.
What I do, particularly when working on the front end, is to stack the two
wheels and tyres under the centre of the car. If the unthinkable happened,
you still have about 10" of solid kit between the car and the floor and this
would give you a fighting chance of getting out.
If your wheels are extremely pretty, use old ones instead.
