she called this afternoon and wants to take my offer now but here is the
problem, I have found a 73 MGB GT that is a real nice car for $1800. It
needs a few little things but is perfectly drivable as it is. Here is the
problem - the wife will not let me buy both so I need to decide if I pay
$500 for the Midget and spend the extra fixing it up or buy the GT and
have it ready to go immediately.
I know this is kind of like comparing apples and oranges but if it were
you, which would buy? Any advice would be appreciated >>

Decisions, decisions! The advice you would receive will depend on the list
you ask! If you were on the Spridgets list, the Midget would get the nod.
Here, on the MGs list, anything goes.
Both cars sound like good buys. If you want a pure fun car that handles well
and is a real head turner, get the Midget. If you are looking for a more
practical car that can be used for "family" drives, and you have rainy
weather and maybe a colder climate, go for the BGT. Remember that top down
motoring in the summer is much more fun than driving an overheated BGT in the
sun.
Just my 2 cents!
