Hey Listers:
I AM a lbc enthusiast! As much as I love my GT and would love to sell the
other two, (as in need the cash, need the space, etc), IMHO, MGBs in
general are NOT the highly sought after big buck collectible cars (Mecedes
Gull Wing, GT 40, etc come to mind). GTs (in my opinion as a GT owner)
typically bring a lower price for the same quality as a roadster, at least
here in CA.
I'm completely in love with my '67 and don't plan on *ever* selling it!
But as the owner, I will decide their fate. If they don't sell in two
years, they continue to cost me money to store and their condition gets
worse! And I keep dropping the price! Maybe I AM the village idiot!
I have had tons of interest from you all, too many at this point to respond
to individually! But to those of you from Florida, Michigan, Nebraska and
NJ who wrote to me, I would NOT recommend flying to CA and driving either
one of these non-restored $1300 cars back across the US! I'm seeking a
buyer from Northern CA or Oregon that can appreciate all what a GT has to
offer! As much as an enthusiast from the East would love to buy a
rust-free CA GT, shipping via motor transport would double the price of the
car and THAT is a deal killer.
Neither one of these cars has overdrive, I have no pics available, one has
a dented front fender and clunking tranny but new clutch. The other runs
OK but has some electrical issues going on. If a person was serious, they
would need to check it out in person. So I'm looking for a local Nor Cal
person!
BTW, I'm always the first one to point out sill rust, etc, etc and have
probably talked more people OUT of buying one of my cars than selling them
one! But we are losing a whole new generation of people who have lost the
ability to visualize driving a cool sportscar (MG) down the road when the
car they are evaluating has a flat tire.
Cheers,
Jim Boyd
