If you were working on flat rate, I guess you are right, but personally, I'd
have told him the situation and either charged him or had it towed out - not
your fault that the engine was in that situation. Bet you used a bunch of
anti-seize putting it back together.
I find MGs generally a bit easier to work on than Triumphs. Except for my
Twincams, of course.
