MGA Wooden Steering Wheel - help appreciated

I recently purchased an old MGA stering wheel - wood with three alloy
spokes, each spoke has 5 holes, no makers name or label present.

The wood on the weel is bare, no finish at all. What finish should I apply
to the wood and what is the best method for polishing up the alloy spokes?
Also the wheel has no center cap, anybody know where I can get one?

Help greatly appreciated.
