Here's another one for you. Leave the engine in the car and take out the gearbox. I've done this a few times myself, but it can only be done with a non overdrive gearbox. Then the clutch is accessible from under the car and the throwout bearing is accessible on the front of the gearbox. You have to take off the remote shift tower by rotating the box over on it's side, then rotate the box over a full 180 degrees and drop it out nose first.
