Listees,
What are the signs of worn layshaft or bearings in a 3 synchro
gearbox? I've been told that layshaft replacement is a relatively
simple procedure once the box is out, and that it is a good
preventive measure, before further damage is done to the tranny,
since wear is inevitable, but my question is, how do you know that it
is needed. My tranny is noisy in general, and in first and second in
particular, but doesn't jump out of gear. How many miles should a
carefully rebuilt and driven gearbox be good for? Just wondering...
