The motor in my car is a '68 high comp. I have checked the dwell, within
tolerance. The motor has three timing marks. T.D.C & what? Reading it left
to right, t.d.c, 5&10 deg. b.t.d.c? The shop manual I have doesn't show
this, it shows 5 marks. The manual said to set timing at 600 rpm, vacuum
disconnected and should be 14 deg. b.t.d.c? Is this still correct with
unleaded gas. I set it to 12 deg.(I think?) and the car would idle fine but
would not start. Next I set it to 9 deg.(again I think?) and it starts fine
and runs good but feels sluggish above 3000 rpm. Can anyone help me set
timing?
