Paul et al:

MG wiper wheel nuts were the bane of my existance as a dismantler.
The problem is that they are very soft brass. Any crush by a wrench will
cause them to seize on the threads. Add to that the corrosion of the
aluminium threads and you have an unhappy time. It is always disconcerting
to a dismantler when a BFH will not work.

The best tool I have used is a large pair of vice grips. Set so
that the jaws just grip slightly as much of the circumference of the nut as
possible. Lots of favorite penetrant left overnight. The nuts are not
tight, so use very little force. Any undue force will crimp the soft nut to
the threads. Use of a spanner will tend to jam the nuts instantly as the
contacted flats are the thinnest part of the nut and deform instantly.

If this technique fails, on to the previously recomended cutoff
technique.
