No no no! You don't realize, the fewer you build, the *more* expensive
they are! That new Beetle, sans power accessories, but hand-built at a
rate of 2000/year, and not sharing a drivetrain with the million-selling
Golf, would probably cost Viper money -- $60,000+
It's not content so much as it's economies of scale that affect the
price. Realities of modern manufacturing. Why Morgans are $40K (not too
many cupholders in a Morgan).
So there's still hope for an all-new MG from Rover/BMW, but no hope for
an MGA revival at any price.
