Dear MG-ers:

I am new to this list, and thrilled to have found it! I got some very
helpful replies to a question about bushings I posted yesterday. Here's
something else I wanted to check out. With tech. assistance from my
local supplier, I purchased a number of custom components for my B's
engine as part of a ground-up makeover. I have installed the aluminum
cross-flow head, 1 3/4" SU's, an Advanced Performance Technology street
cam, high-lift roller rockers, oversize (.060) pistons, heavy-duty valve
springs, stainless headers, electronic ignition--Pertronix (and of
course a re-curved distributor). To go with these upgrades (and to keep
me from getting killed), I've also upgraded clutch, suspension, and
brakes.

I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with any or all of
these components? I am nearing completion of my restoration, and hope
to turn this baby over and get it ON THE ROAD before the summer ends. I
had some special challenges getting the Moss-supplied head components to
come together. Poor/nonexistent fittings for heater valve (adaptor),
spacers and linkage for SU's, etc. Was able to work these things
out--as far as I can tell! But I sure would appreciate learning from
others about things to watch out for, make sure to do, etc. One
thing--I can probably get this from the APT folks--is what the timing
should now be.

Let me know if you know anything, or would just like to compare notes.
