The little squarish Purolator pump referred to is fine for a negitive
ground MG, 4 cyl, or V8. Just be sure you get the low pressure version.
I have one installed in my MGBGTV8 in line with the original fuel pump
as a fail safe. It is bolted to the battery box ( if an open framework
can be referred to as a box) with a rubber pad to quiet the annoying
ticking noise it makes.
I wired a 2 way switch in the wire the feeds the fuel pump- on/off/on-,
ran a second wire the the other pump. Now with a flick of the switch, I
can change pumps while driving. A second benefit is that the OFF
position may keep someone from taking a joy ride in your car, at least
one of more than a few blocks.
