I had to change the carbon a couple years ago when a
stuck grose jet resulted in the carbon canister
filling up with fuel. I don't recall how the canister
came apart, but I recall taking it off and figuring it
out pretty easily. I think there's a band around the
center that holds it together, but I'm not absolutely
sure of my memory on this. Take it off and look it
over - you should be able to figure out how it comes
apart. Then just throw away the old carbon, refill it
with aquarium carbon (available at the local pet
shop), and put it back together. Good as new, and
pretty simple.
