Lowering is fine if you are prepared to address the other issues.
Things like bump steer and camber cannot be ignored. The 2" lowered '78
B of ours has severe bump steer and the camber is enough to wear the
inside of the tires quite a bit.

However, in concert with the larger front sway bar, the '78 B makes my
'70 B feel like a dump truck. Seriously! I still prefer the chrome
bumper Bs, but I can't complain about performance. A well-sorted rubber
bumper can hold it's own any day.

Mike and I are working on coilover suspension for the front end. It is
similar to the Moss setup, except that we will be using a new upper
A-arm bent from tubing. The use of turnbuckles will allow for tuning of
the camber and caster. Bump steer is another issue, however, and we
haven't figured this one out yet. Ideas?

RV8 front end. Hrmph! We don't need no stinkin' RV8 front end!

BTW. The '78 B with lowered springs and large sway bar rides as if it is
a rigid suspension. Better hope your kidneys are in good shape. The
rough ride is partly due to the absence of suspension travel, which we
will address with shortened bump stops and slightly increased ride
height.
