No, no, no! You need to learn the exact angle of outward lean to which
you need to position the jack (depending on type of surface) so that at
full extension it is perfectly vertical. This is, of course, documented
in the Nonexistent Virtual Owner's Manual, available from Vaporware
Press. Or you can wrap a thick towel around the head of the jack and hope
for the best....
