I saw a listing in AutoTrader a few years ago for one of the Ferris Bueller
"Ferraris". It said that 12 replicas of the 64? Ferrari were built for use
in the movie (worth about $75,000 each, so a bit more than a kit-car). The
one being sold was offered at less than half that amount.

I saw a photo of said car in a magazine, it was for sale. I don't remember
which magazine, but I remember reading that it was an authentic Ferrari,
except that it had a Ford drivetrain, and so was relatively inexpensive.
The car used for the "crash" might have been a kit car.
