We lost a great friend the other day when the cancer that was attacking our
friend and club member Sam Mearns passed away. Mark Brandow of Quality
Coaches wrote this and I'd like to share it with the rest of you on the list.
In Memory Of Sam
It's hard to know what's around the next bend,
One never knows when the road will end
I always thought we could go as far
As our hearts could be carried in that little car
But the car can still run
On the rallys for fun
Just the driver didn't last
His energy dwindled and suddenly passed
And now just the memory and the photos live on
We know, however his energy will never be gone
The carburetor problems of the TD are cured
If only dear Sam had endured
So I bid my friend a sad farewell
It's only through MG's I got to know him well
But I venture to guess he's well on his way
With a MG to carry him to his resolution day
His affection for MG's was more than most
And to that fondness, I propose a toast
May we all live, run and have some fun
Then go quickly when our time is done.
Thanks for the memories Sam.
