Dot spec tests the brake fluid for boiling points. Brakes transfer much heat
and fluid boils, the pressure changes. MIL spec 5606 fluid & skydrol
(aircraft fluids) are not usable for auto systems. If you think rubber seals
swell and leak, Skydrol can melt the handle off a screwdriver and if you
happen to get any in your eye, You will really know what pain is as it
absorbs the moisture from your eye. I've been turning wrenches on birds for
almost thirty years. Cars are cars & planes are planes. Silcone or Castrol
LMA are good choices. Keep it clean and replace the fluid regularly. Good
