Last year, sometime/somewhere, I acquired a hard top for an MG B.
It was purported to be a "works" or original equipment top and does look
like one. It is 2-piece fiberglass construction w/ what appears to be
an inner textured surface and an outer "shell". It is not an obvious
aftermarket top w/ rounded corners and stuff. It came w/ a new back
glass and new side lites as yet to be installed. It is tired enough
that I don't think it is a newer reproduction factory-type hardtop.
My questions are these:
a. how does one tell if it is, in fact, an original equipment
top?
b. where does one get the rubber bits i.e., weatherstripping,
etc?
c. same question for the hardware?
None of this really matters a lot as I only gave $50 for the thing
but I'd like to know if it is an original example. It would certainly
add a few "gee-whiz" points to the old V8 project.
Thanks
