One trick I've learned is to remove a rear wheel, then jack up the rear
of the car by the body (not axle) in order to change the angle of the
driveshaft at the U-joints (this takes multiple jack stands). Then turn
the drive shaft with your hand (the car being in neutral) until the
nipple is at the widest gap (the outside of the angle). This may require
bending the grease gun neck to a different angle, as well. I know this
has worked on one of my vehicles although I don't recall if it was the
MG... I have also used the "pin" tip with success, but you really have to
bear down on it, it doesn't grip by itself like the standard type.
Skye Poier had this to say:
>Hello, another question for you all. My UJs have the grease fitting on
>them but the end of my grease gun is way to big to fit between the yokes
>and get on the fitting. I bought a pin-like attachment for the grease gun
>but I end up getting grease everywhere but in the nipple. Any tips on
>how to do this? Can you get a narrower grease fitting somewhere?

Runs great,
looks particularly bad since some SUV clown backed into it.
If you're near Mountain View, CA,
it's the red one with the silver bootlid.
