Hi folks,
It looks as if I'm once again going to have the fun of the r/r of the
dashboard in the '77B. Denise led me to the site of the problem, viz., one of
the gear teeth is hung up in the middle wiper's wheelbox.
For most of you that would be a simple problem where you would remove the
nuts that hold the wheelbox assemblies to the cowl, drop the shafts through the
cowl, pull the cable assembly out, fix the bugger and 'reinstallation is the
reverse of the aforementioned process'. Ha! Ha! Guess what can not be pulled
out due to the air conditioning ducts and the evaporator?
The only solution is to remove the dash to gain access to the wiper assembly
and do what I should have done last fall when I replaced the wiring harness, a
little bit of PM. In fact, maybe a whole bunch of preventative maintenance. I
don't want to have to go through this again. There is no way that I would
intentionally add a/c to an MGB.
