Well I just went through this mess and after I was done decide to spring $35
for a remanufactured cylinder from Advance Auto Parts.

There is another buried behind the nylon bushing and rubber seal.
The only way I was able to get it out was carefull destroy (be careful not
to scratch the barrel) it by drilling holes in it all the way around until I
could break it and remove it. There probably is a better way, but I did not
figure it out. Behind the nylon bushing is a rubber seal.
then the second spring (C) clip. It is hard to get to because it is so far
down in the barrel. Again you have to be careful not to scratch the barrel.
I used two small punches in the holes to compress and remove it.

Good luck!

|I'm trying to rebuild my Master Brake Cylinder and I'm stuck. I've removed
|the spring and retaining cup from the plunger but can't figure out how to
|remove the plunger. There's a nylon bushing around the plunger in the main
|body of the Master but there is no retaining clip for the bush and neither
|the bush nor the plunger will come out. What is it that I'm missing here?
|Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
