A couple water pump questions

I'm changing the water pump on my 71 B. Do the bolts need any kind of sealant
on the threads when I put it back together? One of the bolts needs replacing,
is this a standard SAE size that I can get locally? Also, how does one 'burp'
the coolant? I've heard this term several times, but I don't know what it
means. Thanks in advance.
