A few questions:
1) Does the radio only work when the ignition is on?
2) Do your Water Temp and Fuel gauge readings drop off during the 30s-2m
interval that the tach and radio don't work?
3) Does the tach respond to the actual RPM during the "4K" interval?
4) Do any of the lights (side marker, taillights, brake lights) come *on*
(by themselves) during this? Do any of them fail?
It sounds a lot like an intermittant short / loose wire in the
switched-power circuit to me, but it's hard to say. I've had some mighty
strange things happen due to misconnections/loose grounds/etc. in the
lights (which is why I ask #4).
