Hi Matt and all who have made helpful suggestions,
Thanks.
Right now there is too much snow and more tomorrow and then more on
Saturday. Maggie is up on stands while the rostyle wheels are at the
sandblast shop, so kind of hard to do diagnostics.

All intake gaskets were replaced when engine was rebuilt. I ran out of dough
before the carbs got done.

I will have to take a look again. I had thought about a leak in the vacuum
advance diaphragm etc. Was going to replace the advance unit until I found
out how expensive the HIF advance units are. Tried to check operation as
much as I could didn't appear to leak but who knows? Might be another reason
to
*regress* to HS4s

This would not deserve the distinction of being a list of British car
fanatics if there wasn't an argument on the carb subject. I was just afraid
that the subject had been recently thrashed over so completely that a
collective groan would arise at my bringing it up again.

No pics on line yet, I have a couple of the MGB along side my 1991 Mercury
Capri roadster (Matilda). The Brit and the Aussie side by side drives both
proud countrymen batty. I am happier and happier about the white paint every
time I see my neighbor's citron green Plymouth Neon! The 1974 big black
rubber bumper blocks are safely tucked away. Couldn't bear to part with em
but couldn't bear to look at em either. The chrome over riders from my 73
parts car sure look nicer.
