Tom,
I have 4 MG-B's.My wifes' 1977 had the stock elecrronic ignition,which
failed early in it's life.I replaced it with a points distributor...problem
solved.
My 1976 stock ignition failed..I replaced it with a Crane module
electronic ignition with it's control box...problem solved.
My 1974 roadster had adistributor with a poor points cam..I replaced it
with a Petronics module electronic ignition..problem solved..
There are several great electronic ignitions out there..My bet is that
the Petronics system is just what you need...If you go with the Crane unit,
you will have to bypass the ballast resistor, other wise, your coil will not
get enough signal to work.
Or, you can go to a points distributor..but i think the petronics unit is
what you will enjoy the most(no points to mess with)
Yours, H4(Howard)
