To all... thanks so much for your replies. The overwhelming consensus is
that I am being paranoid. :)

Well, I just want to clarify why I asked... I didn't have this problem on my
last MG - it stayed pretty constant at 75.

Thanks again,

All this reading about oil pressure is fascinating. Lots of highly
experienced folks on this list at almost polar opposites about oil
pressure. Me? Anything over 50# under load is fine.

All these differences of opinion lead me to wonder: just how consistently
calibrated are these oil pressure gauges, anyway? Could some of these
differences be due to the gauges themselves?

And another thing - my '76 B does run about 70# but not until it's been
running about 10 minutes. Pressure on the gauge is very slow to rise above
about 45# - but once thoroughly warm it stays at about 70# at anything
above about 1500 rpm all day. I built this engine about 44,000 miles ago,
and it's been that way as long as I can remember. Why would this be?
Gauge? Gunk in the line to the gauge?

TIA for any ideas,

Allen
