While we are on the brighter bulb topic I installed two in the 77 last
night. Work great. Whilst I was at it I got to wondering as to why my
fan switch has never illuminated as does the hazard switch. Got fiddling
in there and found that there were two wires a red with white tracer
and black that were not attached to the switch. They actually had a male
spade blank sort of thing stuffed in them. Checked the continuity of
these and it was good, attached them to the switch and AHAAA!!!!!!
LIGHT!!! Why would these have not been attached, appears to be factory
not a PO deal(the inserts)? I do have a master shut off so I left them
attached until I discover the lists wisdom.
In order to access the switch and wires I removed the radio console and
decided I may as well fix the bulb for my heater control. Anyone have a
North American Part # for such bulb? I don't want to confuse the Local
NAPA guy more than I have to. It is listed in VB's as part # 8-197
Bulb- warning on dash, this on page 165 of an older VB catalogue. Any
info would be appreciated as I would like to put the interior back ASAP.
I still can't get over those two wires for the fan light never
attached!!!!!! The Lord works in mysterious ways I know!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance.
