THIS IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA!
You ask someone in America what a Rover is, you get several responses:
1. "You mean, Land-Rover?" (As good a brand Land-Rover is, this would be like
calling a Cadillac a "Mack" or a "White"... Luxury vehicles does not equal
truck and Lincoln did thier branda great disservice building the Navigator
and Jaguar has had the good sense to tell Ford to screw when the offered a
Jaguar version)
2. "Let me tell you about those Sterlings.. you know thats what the called
them here, Sterlings... They were SHIT"
3. Or you get what my Aunt says "I had a TC 2000 and it broke down every
week. I made sure every boyfriend I had was a mechanic. There was just
something really wrong with the car... I had a Fiat that needed a new
headgasket every six weeks and I'd say that Rover is worse. Anyway, one day I
drove it down to Penn Bus Station in Newark, NJ, took the plates off it, and
said good bye"

From what I've read in "Autocar" (I get them a couple weeks late here in
the USA) the Rover 75 is basically a winner. You could put an MG style grill
on there and it would represent everything the Magnettes were... Mildly sporty
luxurious sedans. It is just going to be interesting when they inevitably
come up with the "MG Heritage" Adverts and have to show the Farina Magnette!
Now I love my Farina Magnette and CAN'T WAIT for BMW to send me the Rover 75
with a nice, shiny, MG badge!

   John
