I had the pistons, pins and con rods connected at my local machine

First, don't listen to your friend - he may drive em but he sure doesn't know
how to build em.
Go to a competent engine shop and have them balanced properly. A variance of
64 grams is a bad joke. We 'zero' balance for racing, but within about a gram
is fine for the street.
Want to lose sleep over something else? Try cc'ing your combustion chambers
sometime. I sometimes think that a blind man carving a head out of a lump of
coal could have done a better job than BMC did on their head design and
production values. Or check your valve seat measurements or..........
