Subject: MGA BUMPER BRACKET NEEDED
LISTERS,
I am in need of a front bumper bracket for my '58 "A" coupe. This is the part
referred to in the catalogs as the "front extension" and listed at a price well
above my meager budget. Any help would be appreciated. TIA, Sam
I have since discovered that the part I am persuing may more correctly be
referred to as the bumper "mount". This is the single center piece that slides
into the front of the frame and is held by two bolts top & bottom on each side.
The front protrudes through the two center holes of the valance ( ignoring the
engine crank hole ) and the two center bumper "brackets" are attached to these
"bolts". The two outer bumper brackets are attached to "wings" ( for lack of a
better description ) which attach to the main bumper mount. This "mount" also
has two "plates" on top that bolt to the shelf area in front of the radiator.
My apologies for not being more clear the first time around. Sam
