When there are four speaker wires NONE of them are ground. When you have
three speaker wires the black one is usually ground, and there is a colored
wire for each speaker. Consider them your +.
Red us usually power +, black power -. If it is a new radio, no problem, but
I have seen used radios with the fuse holder cut off. Be sure the radio is
fused.

BTW what was the one you took out like? Did it say BMC or British Leyland on
it? The cars were shipped without radios, and there were a lot of
aftermarket ones installed.
