Don't forget, if you install a battery cutoff switch then you will lose the
settings on your radio.  To prevent this you should take a line (with an
in-line fuse) directly from the battery to the permanent power feed terminal
on the radio.

Whilst on the subject of battery disconnect switches: there is no reason
that the switch should be mounted near the battery (behind the seats or some
other inconvenient position).  All that comes off the battery is a single
heavy cable to the solenoid terminal, which is in close proximity to the
right hand side footwell (and in fact there is a little bulge there to
accomodate the starter motor).  All you need is a break anywhere in that
wire's length, so you could, for example, mount it on the firewall above the
foot position (with appropriate safeguards against accidental actuation).

In any case make sure that the cable is suitably sheathed and supported in
such a way that if it came loose it cannot short against the car body.
