NOT a good way to deal with this problem. A much better way was developed for
American engines that don't have replacable guides - the guides are machined
into the castings.
They are drilled out until parallel and a bronze helicoil is inserted. These
stay in much better than any liner or sleeve can, as they are keyed to the
spiral groove machined into the inside of the guide for their installation.
