Greetings from Savannah, Georgia:
I have a 1980 B. The PO had most of the emissions system removed (no air pump
and other stuff). The car is running fast at idle ( about 1500-1700) with the
clutch out. When the clutch is in the RPm's drop about 500. I have never
worked on the carb but I was wondering what my limitations are on getting the
timing and idle set correctly without the emissions system. Are there hoses
that must be rerouted or blocked? Wiring? I understand that one should not
tune the carb unless the timing is set correctly first. How hard is it to
rebuild the carb using a carb rebuild kit? Thanks!
