New to MG

Hello,

I am interested into adapting a pre '73 MG with a 215ci Buick V8.  I am
curious if anyone has done this transformation and how painful the
process was.  Any information would help.  I have heard this
transformation is easier with MG's made after '77, but here in California
to qualify for smog exemption, It has to be '73 or earlier.  Thank you so
much for your time and information.
