OD Tranny/Intake Manifold

My 72 B has OD.  On the manifold is a plug with what looks like a thumb
tack in the top of it.  I can only guess that this is a good part, as it
says "Smiths" on it.

Refer to the Moss manual, they6 call it a o/d Restrictor.  there are no
hoses attached to it, so just what the heck does it do.  I looks broken,
but the o/d still works...
