RE: list of helpers for trip

MG Car Club Deutschland, e.V. has been doing this for years.
Periodically, the club sends to every member a list of MG owners that
will help a fellow MG owner in distress.  Including address and
telephone number.  The list gives codes of what the local MG owner can
help the MG owner in distress with; i.e. know a good garage, have my own
tools, you can stay here, always welcome for coffee (beer), etc.
