31. U.S. Patent Office Original printed official trade-mark registration
certificate for M.G., Aug. 22, 1933, surprinted upon 1949 and 1953
renewals. 7-1/4 x 11. This was filed with their attorney in Washington
when this logo was registered. Not to be confused with pages from Patent
Gazette, these are historical documents with provenance. *No other such
originals are located or believed to be extant.* For the marque
specialist, these are the most seminal artifacts to be had. Discarded
after World War II to save file space, these were rescued by a CIA
officer who was also an avid antique auto buff. They served as the
reference file for the renowned late Harry Pulfer, the foremost
authority on automobile emblems. Indeed, these documents provide the
most authoritative information for dating variants of such names and
emblems. Three-hole punch in blank margin by later collector, one
underlining and one marginal check mark by Pulfer, else very fine. With
letter of provenance. A superlative cornerstone of the utmost historical
significance. *Many other marques available; ask! Each believed unique.*
