Hi folks,
Thought I sent this this morning but it appears to have gotten lost in
cyberspace. The problem is that the wipers on the '77B won't stop, regardless
of the switch setting. This is with the new wiring harness and a brand new
wiper switch. They just plain didn't work when I got the car.
The wiper motor is a 14W but it doesn't quite match the exploded view as
seen in Figure 10.18 of Haynes. The difference is that there is no Limit switch
screw (part #10). The limit switch is there and is being actuated by the cam on
the underside of the gear wheel. All of the tests in the Lucas troubleshooting
brochure check out fine. I've found a discrepancy in the wiring harness vs. the
Haynes wiring diagram. The wires for pins 4 & 5 of the connector at the motor
are reversed. Swapping them at the switch connector doesn't cure the problem.
Anybody been here before? TIA.
