Howard,
All this cost me was a buck in diesel, and some of my time. Not having
much experience in this area I would like to understand the problem and
the cause before I fix it. The investment was small, and I was
puttering around the house anyway (fixing a couple of doors, etc.)
so all it required was me to look at the car every 15 minutes.
Remember I also tried to run my own leak down test, though the results
were inconclusive to me. A better, more experienced ear might have
heard something that I missed. I just don't want to jump the gun
on a rebuild without understanding what I have, and it affects. I
guess I want to proceed slowly only because I have very little
experience in this area. If I learn more along the the way good,
especially if the cost in money and time is small.
